Happy Faces Vadodara As A Corona Warrior
Just like Sophocles, we at Happy Faces Vadodara too believe that “To be doing good deeds is a man’s most glorious task”.
With the Corona Virus pandemic taking the world in its clutches, the daily wage workers, migrant labourers and street dwellers were pushed deeper into poverty, where even one square meal was a struggle for most.
To tackle this challenge, Happy Faces Vadodara rose against the disaster and decided to lend a helping hand to the needy, poor and the destitutes.
The corona warriors associated with Happy Faces Vadodara had been on-ground, reaching to the remotest parts of the city to provide relief materials to the deprived.
Our Warriors on the Corona War Front:
- One of the members of HFV, distributed tea and refreshments among the police personnels – our protectors, the law keepers, as a token of thank you for their marvelous work.
- Many members of HFV, took it upon themselves, to individually distribute food and essentials in and around their areas, keeping in mind to stay away from the containtment zones. These members hand cooked and prepared food packets and served to the needy and the hungry throughout the lockdown period.
- Joining HFV in the fight against Corona disaster, a few ladies of Vishranti Greens Apartment of Gotri area decided to turn corona heroines and rolled out about 200 fresh chapattis every single day which was collected, packed and distributed further to the needy, by our members.
- On multiple occasions, the members of HFV, made kits of groceries like grains, flour, oil, pulses, cereals and other essentials like fresh vegetables and distributed them among hundreds of stranded and abandoned families of daily wage workers like ice-cream vendors, balloon vendors, garland makers and waste collectors among others. For these hunger stricken and famished families of the labourers, who had been robbed of their daily wages, these kits, for many days, would have kept them from going to sleep hungry.
- A few members, turned angels for the stray dogs of the city, who became the unforeseen casualities of the lockdown by being cut off from their major sources of receiving food. Our members did a “Paw”some work by reaching out to these stray and hungry pooches in and around their locality, feeding them and taking care of them throughout the lockdown.
- On the 10th of May 2020, Happy Faces Vadodara completed 5 years of serving the society. This happy occasion was celebrated by launching Paws of Vadodara – an initiative to feed the stray dogs of the city and make lives easier for our furry friends. Around 150 strays are fed and taken care of every single day under the protective umbrella of Paws Of Vadodara, an initiative by Happy Faces Vadodara.
- Marking the 5th year Anniversary of Happy Faces Vadodara, our members, educated about the meaning and importance of social distancing and distributed 800+ reusable cotton masks in the slum areas of Makarpura, Manjalpur, Soma Talav, Harni, Warasia, Waghodia Road, Akota, Mujhmahuda, Karelibaug and Bapod Naka areas of the city.
- The lockdown led to drying up of blood resources in blood banks. Our team Life+ conducted a voluntary blood donation campaign wherein many members, turned up as blood donors and hence, life savers.
The main goal of Happy Faces Vadodara, since its day of inception is to ensure that we are available to the society whenever the need arises. Staying true to our goal, we stood strong with our frontline corona fighters like doctors, nurses, police, sanitation workers, among others , as they locked horns with the pandemic.
Our biggest belief is – Humanity is the biggest religion and we strive to serve that school of thought.
