Bringing smiles to the faces of young children is truly one of the best ways in which a person can make a difference in the society. In keeping with this sentiment, Happy Faces Vadodara, a group of young enthusiasts, organised a special musical event on 26th February 2016 at AmphiTheatre, Kameti Baug, Vadodara.
Happy Faces Vadodara is a group that was started by Mr. Piyush Khare. When asked him what encouraged him to start this group, he said “I always wanted to be a little help to the society and for that I connected with my school friends and shared some ideas with them. We started this group with just 6 people and now we have over 100 active members. My entire team is enthusiastic and we work for a common cause.” He also added “Live life for a cause and not for applause.” It was he and few of his friends who came up with the idea that music can be one of the best ways to get the underprivileged and specially-abled children entertained while at the same time raise awareness within society about the needs of these children. Due to this reason, the special musical event was organised at the end of last month with great success. Before this event the team has done multiple events with underprivileged kids and in old age homes.
In this special musical event, people gathered together to share some beautiful and Happy Moments with the Unprivileged and the Special Kids. The Musical Evening that was held at the AmphiTheatre, Kameti Baug, Vadodara featured Ashva Band, one of the upcoming talent in Vadodara that have made a strong name for themselves with their amazing sound. Entry was free for all which welcomed people from all backgrounds and sections of society. The gathering of the band and the people was one of the best ways to show the children that they mattered to us. This unique gesture also made the kids feel really loved by all those who were present on this special day.
The total number of people that attended this special event was somewhere around 2500. Among these, there were around 300 underprivileged and specially abled kids. A special thanks to Astitva Foundation who helped to gather so many kids in this event. Such a major attendance really helped to turn this event into a major success. The kids were all welcomed with balloons and a dhol function. The dhol event really helped to settle the mood of the evening. This was then followed by the spectacular performance that was put forth by Ashva Band which got everyone in the groove. The children were also provided with food packets that brought smiles to the faces of these children. The enormous response of this event made this musical evening a grand success. People who chose to be a part of this event really enjoyed a lot. The children for whom this event was particularly organised enjoyed a lot as well. The immense response that was generated by this program really made the organisers feel happy that their efforts were able to create a difference in the lives of all the people involved.
The underprivileged and special needs kids truly require the love and care of the people around them to grow and thrive. While they often feel deprived in their lives, it is up to us to make them feel loved and cared for. A program like this can not only show them that people are concerned for them but it also gives them the hope that they can have a better future. It is this ray of hope that can bring smiles to their faces and make their childhood precious to them.
